Labiaplasty (Inner lip aesthetics)

Labiaplasty is the most common genital plastic surgery. It is known as ‘genital lip aesthetics’ or ‘genital area lip aesthetics’.

Labiaplasty actually means both inner lip and outer lip aesthetics. However, since inner lip aesthetic surgeries are much more commonly performed, labiaplasty is more commonly known as inner lip aesthetic surgery.

Inner lip aesthetics is also known as ‘Labia minoraplasty’. It is also known as ‘labia minora reduction’ because the inner lips are reduced. It is an aesthetic operation of the inner lips. In labiaplasty operations, sagging, wrinkled, abnormally long, thick and dark lips are cut and aesthetically corrected. In this way, a pleasant and symmetrical appearance can be achieved. As a matter of fact, abnormally large inner lips, which we call ‘labial hypertrophy’, may cause the person to experience psychological complaints, to be uncomfortable in sexual intercourse, embarrassment, lack of self-confidence, inability to establish a healthy partner relationship, inability to wear tight pants, tights, swimsuits, bikinis, urine wetting the legs while urinating or straining to urinate.

Labial hypertrophy (inner lip enlargement and sagging) may be congenital or develop after puberty. It may also be familial. It can also develop due to frequent scratching during puberty, irritation due to frequent fungal infections, sexual intercourse and connective tissue weakness.
