Pap-Smear test

The Pap smear test is a test that we recommend all women undergo regularly. Even among highly educated women, I see that some are unaware of the importance of this test and even what it is. So, without going into too much detail, let me explain the basics.
The Pap smear test is a simple, painless swab test taken once a year to screen for cervical cancer. The swab is sent to a pathology laboratory, examined by pathologists, and the results are returned to us on a specific scale. Based on these results, if there is no suspicious finding, we continue with routine annual follow-ups. If there is a suspicious finding, we make the necessary referrals (HPV test, biopsy, conization, etc.) so that the suspicious lesion does not develop into cancer over the years. As a result, you will not get cancer. This is very important! We have almost no such opportunity with any other type of cancer. By taking a sample directly from the tissue, we can take preventive measures long before cancer develops.
So please do not skip your Pap smear test.
