Labiaplasty (Labia Minora Aesthetics)
Labiaplasty is the most commonly performed genital aesthetic surgery. It is also known as “genital lip aesthetics.”
Labiaplasty actually refers to both labia minora and labia majora aesthetics. However, since labia minora aesthetics surgeries are much more commonly performed, labiaplasty is more commonly known as labia minora aesthetics surgery.
Labia minora aesthetics is also known as “labia minora reduction.” Since the inner labia are reduced in size, it is also known as “labia minora reduction.” It is an aesthetic operation on the inner labia. In labia minora labioplasty surgery, sagging, wrinkled, abnormally long, thick, and dark-colored labia are cut and aesthetically corrected. This procedure can achieve a more pleasing and symmetrical appearance. Indeed, the condition we call “labial hypertrophy,” where the inner labia are larger than normal, can cause psychological complaints, discomfort during sexual intercourse, embarrassment, lack of self-confidence, inability to establish healthy partner relationships, inability to wear tight pants, leggings, swimsuits, or bikinis, and urinating on the legs or straining to urinate.
Labial hypertrophy (enlargement and sagging of the inner labia) can be congenital or develop after puberty. It can also be hereditary. Additionally, it may develop during puberty due to frequent scratching, irritation from recurrent fungal infections, sexual intercourse, or weak connective tissue.
Labiaplasty aims to reduce the size of the inner labia and achieve a more aesthetically pleasing and functional appearance.
Vaginal Tightening Surgery (Vaginoplasty)
The vagina widens and stretches as a result of aging, menopause, normal childbirth, frequent sexual intercourse, abortion, and other gynecological interventions. The widening of the vagina can cause problems such as inability to feel, enjoy, or achieve orgasm during sexual intercourse for both women and their male partners. The surgical procedure to narrow the vagina and restore its tightness and narrowness is called vaginal tightening or “vaginoplasty.”
Clitoral Hoodoplasty
The clitoris is the main organ responsible for sexual pleasure and orgasm in women.
In some women, there may be sagging, wrinkling, or excess tissue on the clitoris along with excess tissue on the inner labia. The bulging, wrinkled, or dark-colored skin folds around the clitoris can have a negative psychological effect on individuals, leading to a lack of self-confidence during sexual intercourse. The surgical correction of wrinkled and excessively full structures on the clitoris to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing appearance is called “clitoral hoodoplasty.”
Clitoral hoodoplasty is often performed in conjunction with labiaplasty. This allows for the creation of a smooth, thin slit known as the “Venus line.” If clitoral hoodoplasty is not performed and only labiaplasty is performed, the protrusion remaining on the clitoris will be more noticeable, resembling a “micropenis.”
Clitoral hoodoplasty performed in conjunction with labiaplasty (inner labia reduction surgery) significantly increases patient satisfaction. However, due to the anatomy of the area, the surgeon's experience is crucial in clitoral hoodoplasty. At our clinic, we perform clitoral hoodoplasty simultaneously with labiaplasty in nearly all of our patients.
Perineoplasty surgery
The area between the vagina and the anus is called the “perineum.” The perineal area may become deformed due to incisions made during childbirth (episiotomy) or skin folds and sagging in this area. In some cases, there may be excess skin folds in this area.
Perineoplasty surgeries are performed to correct birth scarring and remove excess skin in this area. It is generally performed at the same time as vaginal tightening surgery. Perineoplasty is most commonly performed in women who have poorly healed birth stitches (episiotomy), who have experienced postpartum infection, or who have excessive perineal tearing after home birth or difficult delivery.
Reduction of the labia majora, labia majoraplasty
The large labia, which are located on the outer part of the genital area and covered with hair, may cause aesthetic problems if they are larger than normal or sagging. In such cases, a surgical operation is performed to reduce and correct the appearance of large (outer) labia that are enlarged and sagging.
Labia minora reduction is also a type of labiaplasty procedure. The labia minora are referred to as “labium majus.” This procedure is also known as “labia minora labiaplasty” or “labia minora reduction.” During labia minora reduction surgery, the labia minora are surgically reduced in size and made tighter and smoother.
Labia majora augmentation, labia majora fat injection
Depending on the structure or age, depressions and wrinkles may appear on the labia majora covered with hair. In this case, fat injection into the labia majora can be performed to give a fuller appearance. Labia majora augmentation involves taking fat from another area of the body using liposuction and injecting it into the labia majora using special cannulas. This allows labia majora that are smaller or wrinkled than normal to achieve a much fuller and more vibrant appearance.
Fullness can also be achieved by injecting HA (hyaluronic acid) into the labia majora.
